Welcome to Oxford City Lawn Tennis Club

We are a friendly, well equipped and good value members-only tennis club.

Located in a secluded spot in East Oxford, sporting 4 hard courts (All courts are floodlit) and (during the summer) up to 6 grass courts, 

the club has a large, active and sociable membership.

ACTIVITIES

We welcome players of all ages and offer coaching, club & competitive tennis. 


Club-nights are Tuesday & Thursday & Friday evenings and Sunday mornings (10am). We have a super LTA-qualified coach that provides group-coaching for juniors (weekday daytimes) and a group session on Saturday mornings, also group/individual coaching by arrangement. 

COMPETITIONS

We always enter several Ladies, Mens and Mixed teams into the Oxfordshire league. Sometimes they win it! Team practice is on Monday and Wednesday evenings, Singles on Friday. Unscheduled courts are free to use all day. The club also organises social events & tournaments and a ballot for Wimbledon tickets. 

We are located at the back of Oxford Spires Academy, off Cowley Road in East Oxford. We have:

Clubhouse containing changing rooms and toilets, as well as communal/ kitchen area.

Social Tennis

We have a large and active membership with diverse players. We hold club nights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 6pm and Sunday morning from 10am, where members are invited to turn up and play, with balls and floodlights provided. Sometimes followed by a trip to our local, the Marsh Harrier. Adult members have the option of paying a deposit for a key and are free to use the courts at their own leisure with other members or guests (£3.00 visitors fee payable to the club).

We organise a number of social tournaments and events through-out the year which all club members are invited to attend. Our coach, Sam, offers Saturday morning coaching from 10-12pm at £8 per session. (£14 for non members). These are fun sessions and a great way of shaking off the cobwebs after a rowdy Friday night!

All club members also have the option of entering a draw to purchase Wimbledon tickets.

Oxfordshire Winter League 2024 2025

28/9/2024 to 1/5/2025

We compete in Oxfordshire Dunlop leagues all year round with 9 summer league and 6 winter league teams spanning mens, ladies and mixed. Matches are played on Sat and Sun afternoons from 1pm, with the home team providing some refreshments after! Those interested in team tennis are invited to attend team practice on Wednesdays from 6.30pm, (please also notify Trish Newman , the match secretary)
